Real Estate Questions And Answers

Q: There are several homes in my neighborhood that have sold recently. The homes were sold for quite a bit less than I owe on my home. Is there anything that can be done?

A: You may be able to re-finance and reduce the loan amount to today's values. I suggest you contact your lender regarding this issue. For useful information go to: Help For Home Owners

Q: My Realtor is not in the area and is not available to show me homes. Can I just call the listing agents to open the doors for me?

A: Yes, you could do that but, it may be a good idea to speak to your Realtor about referring you to a Realtor in the area where you plan to buy. Often there is a commission split between the 2 Real Estate Agencies. It may be a winning  situation for all while making the home search easier on you.

Q: I am no longer able to make my mortgage payments. I have heard that I may be able to short sell my home. How can I pay commission to get my home sold when I can't even make my payments?

A: I am sorry to hear about your situation.

Normally the bank (not you) pays the Real Estate Agency to represent  you and list your home as a short sale.

Q: I have concern about lead in some of the older homes.

A: I can understand your concern. For information on residential environmental hazards, go to Residential Environmental Hazards.
